Ranger Personal Defense Training was founded on the premise that ALL citizens have a right to protect themselves and should have the training necessary to do just so.
As the founder and president of Ranger Personal Defense Training, I wanted to provide people with realistic firearms training at a realistic price. My sole desire is to offer the training necessary to make you feel more comfortable and confident in your firearms usage. Being a husband and father, I long ago realized that the safety of my family was a huge responsibility as is carrying or relying on a firearm to protect myself and my family. What if I wasn't home when something happened? Would my wife know how to handle an encounter? What if I was hurt and my wife had to protect me and our children?
I wanted to be sure that I was trained, as well as my family, not only for our protection in today's violent society, but also for firearms safety reasons. I had spent over 8 years as a weapons instructor in the Military and over 15 years as a police firearms instructor and SWAT team leader. It is this level of training and competence that I want to pass on to YOU !!
Long ago, I also realized that criminals enjoy two privileges that the normal law abiding citizen does not:
The First being the privilege of having the opportunity to strike; deciding Where and When, and Secondly, the privilege of not caring about the ramifications following an attack.
In each and every situation I was faced with as a police officer and in the military, over 90% of these were in REACTION to a stimuli and not on my terms. Whether on a traffic stop in which the "Bad Guy" decided he wasn't going to jail or responding to an attack on military forces, it was the training that we each received that decided how we reacted. Criminals, or those who become criminals because they were given the opportunity, do not have to react.
The number one thing a criminal looks for is the opportunity to commit a crime. Many of us offer them that opportunity without even knowing it. For example, when most of us are home, we feel safe because we are shut out to the outside world. Most of us do not go through different scenarios of what could happen while we are sitting down to dinner. Most of us are aware of crime, but feel that "It won't happen to Me." This mindset on its own may offer the opportunity a criminal is looking and waiting for. All you need to do is supply the opportunity, and the "Bad Guy" will do the rest...
